Eight months after the death of Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, the group’s co-lead singer Mike Shinoda announced today that he will release a full-length solo album, “Post Traumatic,” on June 15 on Warner Bros. Records. Along with the album announcement, Shinoda released two new tracks – “Crossing a Line” and “Nothing Makes Sense Anymore,” as well as a video for “Crossing a Line.” The 16-track album is available to pre-order, and will include the two aforementioned new tracks alongside the three tracks from Shinoda’s “Post Traumatic” EP, released in January.
Shinoda will perform a handful of solo shows this summer, including the Identity LA in Los Angeles on May 12, Reading and Leeds Festival and the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan in August.
A press release reads, “In the months since the passing of Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington, Shinoda has immersed himself in art as a way of processing his grief. Lagu indonesia enak didengar. With no agenda, Shinoda hunkered down alone in his Los Angeles home and began writing, recording, and painting. In January, he released the Post Traumatic EP consisting of three deeply personal songs – each one a powerful, stream-of-consciousness expression of unvarnished grief – accompanied by homemade visuals that Shinoda filmed, painted and edited himself.
Following the EP release, Shinoda continued to create, and the result is the upcoming ‘Post Traumatic,’ a transparent and intensely personal album that, despite its title, isn’t entirely about grief, though it does start there.”
“It’s a journey out of grief and darkness, not into grief and darkness,” Shinoda says. “If people have been through something similar, I hope they feel less alone,” he says. “If they haven’t been through this, I hope they feel grateful.”
Shinoda spoke at length about the process in a blog post that accompanied the release of the “Post Traumatic” EP. Bennington’s death on July 20 was ruled a suicide; the surviving bandmembers played a tribute concert at the Hollywood Bowl in October, where they were joined by members of No Doubt, System of a Down, Avenged Sevenfold and many others.
Most known for being the founder of alternative rock band Linkin Park, Michael Kenji “Mike” Shinoda is an American vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, producer, graphic designer, and manager. In 1996, Shinoda founded Linkin Park (as Xero) playing rhythm guitar, keyboards, writing, rapping, and singing for the band. Mike also had a hip-hop/rap side-project called Fort Minor, and occasionally composed scores for films and games such as Medal of Honor: Warfighter, The Raid: Redemption, MALL, the theme for AMC’s Into the Badlands, and more.
On July 20, 2017, Linkin Park’s lead singer Chester Bennington died by suicide. Both band members and fans were devastated, especially Shinoda. On October 27 of the same year, Shinoda lead the band in a tribute concert for Chester with guest appearances from friends of the band. The band is now on a brief hiatus.
Shinoda has written and produced a solo album called Post Traumatic in which he pays tribute to Bennington. Released on June 15th, 2018, the album shows how brave he has been facing this event.

Post Traumatic is the first EP by Mike Shinoda, vocalist, keyboardist and guitarist of American rock band Linkin Park. The EP, Shinoda's first solo release, was released on January 25, 2018, by Warner Bros. and Machine Shop.[2][3]
Background[edit]
The EP was released about six months following lead singer Chester Bennington's death and contains three songs composed by Mike Shinoda as a way to cope with the loss of his friend and to express everything he'd been going through over this period.[4][5] In a release note, he wrote:
“ |
The past six months have been a rollercoaster. Amidst the chaos, I’ve started to feel an intense gratitude--for your tributes and messages of support, for the career you have allowed me to have, and for the simple opportunity to create.
Today, I'm sharing three songs I wrote and produced, with visuals that I filmed, painted, and edited myself. At its core, grief is a personal, intimate experience. As such, this is not Linkin Park, nor is it Fort Minor--it's just me.
Art has always been the place I go when I need to sort through the complexity and confusion of the road ahead. I don’t know where this path goes, but I’m grateful I get to share it with you.[6]

All three of the songs on the EP received official music videos[7][8] and were included on the Post Traumatic album.
